Tanzanian musician Ben Paul Myang’ana, famously known as Ben pol, has for the fisrt time opened up about his divorce to Keroche heiress Anerlisa Muigai.
Speaking in an interview with ‘Simulizi na Sauti’, the ‘moyo mashine hit maker disclosed that he did his best to keep the marriage standing, however, he claims that God had other plans for them.
Benpol filed for a divorce in April this year, eleven months after walking down the aisle.
Benpol was madly in love with the Nero water company CEO for the three years they were together, however, he now insists that he no longer has feelings for his ex-wife, nor does he ever wish to rekindle their romance.
“I think I have the right to say that I don’t love her nor have feelings for her at all,” said Benpol.
On what led to their divorce, Benpol blames himself for ignoring clear signs that indicated something was amiss.
“Although I have my weaknesses, there were signals that God showed or the world gave and I ignored and skipped them,” he said.
He was severely hurt by the separation and reportedly fell into depression for three months.
“We lived in our truth. I did my best and gave my all. I invested in that love and that’s why I was affected after it ended. The pain was still the same for two to three months. That period was tough. I can’t pretend to be a commando since love matters are sensitive. I would wake up at 5pm and take my breakfast, take my lunch at 9pm and sleep at 5pm,” said Benpol.
Benpol and Anerlisa tied the knot towards the end of May 2020 at St. Paul’s Catholic church in Daresaalam Tanzania.
Unfortunately, none of miss Muigai’s family members attended the event owing to the Covid19 lockdown.
Their families had advised them to wait for the restrictioms to be lifted but the duo was too eagre to officiate their love.
He described Anerlisa Muigai as a social media wife because whenever she made a mistake, she would apologize via social but never in person.
During their short marriage, Benpol and Anerlisa separated twice. Their first fallout was in October 2020.
Anerlisa flew to Kenya for one half months where she sent several divorce papers to Benpol.
“She went back to Nairobi and she sent me tons of legal papers talking about our separation and I was scared,” he said.
They reunited in the end of September before finally separating for good in February.
