- Wanted police officer Caroline Kagongo has committed suicide in her parent’s home.
- She was wanted for the murder of an officer, John Ogweno and businessman Peter Ndwiga Njiru.
- Kangogo has been running from the police for 10 days now.
Nakuru-based police woman Caroline Kagongo, who was wanted for the cold-blooded murder of two men, has shot herself dead this morning while in her parent’s home in Keiyo, Elgeyo Marakwet county.
Caroline Kagongo’s mother found her daughter’s dead body in a pool of blood in their bathroom, when she went to take her shower.
The late Kagongo shot herself in the forehead with a gun found held in her left hand.
Her distraught parents claimed that they did not hear the gunshot from the bathroom which is about 30 meters from the main house.
Elgeyo Marakwet commander Patrick Lumumba stated that investigations led them to believe that Caroline arrived at her parents’ home at 7.30 in the morning where she entered through the fence and proceeded staright to the bathroom.
No one spotted her making her way to the bathroom however, it was reported that police had narrowed down her whereabouts on Thursday and were there the entire time.
Caroline Kagongo was a wanted criminal for the cold-blooded murder of two men; police constable John Ogweno who was found dead in Nakuru on July 5th and Juja businessman Peter Ndwiga who she shot at a lodging in Kiambu less than 24 hours later.
One police officer disclosed that Ogweno and Kango had fallen in love after meeting at the police station.
The late Ogweno had gone to report one of his employees who had made away with his one hundred thousand shillings.
Police say that Caroline and Ogweno had also taken a sh 500,000 loan together prior to their death.
Tracking Caroline Kagongo was not easy since she decided to ditch her mobile phone. The DCI had to mobilise a team from the elite units of the force to track her.
“It has been challenging tracking down the officer because she no longer uses her phone. However, our team has stepped up the hunt,” said Nakuru County Criminal Investigations Officer Anthony Sunguti.
It was also discovered that the late Caroline Kagongo was part of a rogue police sindicate in Rift-valley who have been behind a spate of robberies and killings.
